GIANT STEPS- BLINK
Creative Director
BLINK is one of the nation’s largest light, art, and projection mapping festivals, drawing over a million visitors to downtown Cincinnati. Miami University’s Emerging Technology in Business and Design Department was selected to participate in the 2024 festival with Giant Step, a large-scale projection mapped onto the YWCA building. The installation showcased our team’s creativity, technical innovation, and storytelling through motion design and immersive visuals.

NARRATIVE
As the Creative Director for ETBD's installation at BLINK 2024, I guided the project’s creative vision from concept to completion. Part of the process for BLINK was presenting to the Executive Director of the organization and gaining approval of our narrative. Our narrative was based on the concept of time, and nature's relationship with technology throughout time. A unique aspect our narrative that the Executive Director especially liked was our inclusion of a character- the giant throughout the narrative.

VERSIONS
Before getting to the final version of our animation, we had several different versions that had to be updated before they were approved by all the leads on the project and our professor. The final version was then made into an animatic, and then made into an animation with transitions from scene to scene.

FINAL VERSION
The final version of 'Giant Steps' was showcased at BLINK 2024 from October 17th-20th. This project was 5 minutes in length and displayed amongst other professional artists. This was an incredible achievement as we only had 6 weeks to complete this project from start to finish.
The final result was showcased on the YWCA building and fit perfectly to the architecture of the building. Our work captured the attention of several different news outlets as well as the university. The official social media account for BLINK called our project apart of the top 3 attractions in the festival.
BLINK TQL STADIUM PROMOTION

Alongside my work for BLINK 2024, I created promotional content that was displayed on the side of TQL Stadium. The visuals were designed in Illustrator and animated in After Effects. This project marked the beginning of my motion design journey and served as an important learning experience—I’ve since developed new techniques and approaches I would apply if creating this piece today.
