EDIFICE
Edifice is a one-minute solo projection mapping piece created for Kumler Chapel in Oxford, Ohio. This audio-reactive project was precisely mapped to the chapel’s interior, emphasizing its intricate arches and luminous stained glass windows. Inspired by the chapel’s delicate stained glass and my personal connection to the space, Edifice explores my appreciation for this sacred space.
Process
For Edifice, I worked with a technical team to obtain precise 3D scans of Kumler Chapel. The scans were converted into an accurate 3D model and flattened into a 2D image to be used for designers creating in a 2D platform. Taking the image of the church, I used Adobe Illustrator to create a series of masks that were transferred to After Effects as masks to target and animate specific structural features, ensuring precise alignment during projection.
