VANCOUVER

This passion project was inspired by the documentary It’s Never Over about the late Jeff Buckley, an artist whose music has deeply influenced me. The film featured many of Buckley’s own drawings, which were animated over live footage to create a sense of authenticity. I was inspired by the raw, hand-drawn quality of this visual style and the vulnerability it conveyed.

Drawing from this inspiration, I created a short animation based on Buckley’s song Vancouver. In this piece, I experimented with lowering the frame rate and incorporating imperfect, hand-drawn illustrations to evoke the same emotional texture and sincerity that resonated with me in the documentary
